Using materials, techniques
unique to the Arts & Crafts style ...
In keeping with tradition, we use the finest, quartersawn
white oak for our Arts & Crafts reproductions. By cutting
perpendicular to the growth rings, quartersawing enhances the
wood's stability, making it finer grained and more resistant
to warping.
This technique has an especially serendipitous effect on oak,
creating the flecking that is highly prized in furniture of the
period. We carefully hand-select each piece of quartersawn oak
to fit the aesthetics of each piece of furniture we build. |
